Will Kelly

Will Kelly has spent his high-technology career spans technical writing, consulting, requirements analysis, technology writing, and product management.

 

Requirements Analysis Experience

Working in the role of requirements analyst, he has developed the technical requirements for Web-based applications for content management, and ISP infrastructure support. He enjoys working with end customers while gathering requirements.

Technical Writing Experience

As a technical writer, Will has written original technical documents in support of new product and service launches. His technical writing experience spans SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle) documentation, architecture documentation, operations guides , and related documentation. He also has extensive experience developing Web content, online help, getting started guides, user guides, and job aids.

He has also worked to develop documentation to support an international financial institution's compliancy with COSO (think the international version of Sarbanes-Oxley). During this project, he worked with client management to develop a documentation style guide and templates to provide consistency across project documentation. He also lead numerous discussions about project documentation and document management during this project.

 

Other Project and Writing Experience

Additionally, past projects have put him in roles providing project management and product management support for product launches. He is very comfortable stepping outside traditional technical writer duties and responsibilities.

Will has been the technical editor for a number of computer books about the Internet, HTML, Web development, and Microsoft Office applications. Technical editor means that he was responsible for the technical accuracy of the book manuscript.

He has also published technical and project management related articles on industry Web sites and newsletters like TechRepublic.com, and Element K Journals. Currently, his articels appears in Processor Magazine, PC Today Magazine, and Windows IT Pro Magazine.

Will is a pro-active self starter with an analytical mind. His work experience with start ups and projects on a tight budget provide him experience to draw on to devise creative solutions to problems that can arise on high-technology product launches.

In his spare time, Will goes to the gym and takes a cycling class to relieve stress.
