Developing content and managing knowledge
I’m a senior technical writer and knowledge manager living and working in Northern Virginia. Much of my time as a technical writer has been spent working directly with programmers and other technologists. My current area of focus is thought leadership content.
My technical writing career includes time spent in telecommunications, cable broadband, internet services, and now corporate growth. I’ve written documentation for end users, operations teams, and technical audiences. My English major and technical writer roots came together when I started writing bylined technology articles. My articles about enterprise mobility, BYOD, and cloud computing have been published by technology publishers and corporate sponsored sites.
I’ve also had to play the role of knowledge manager on past projects acting as the gatekeeper for technical content. Playing that role taught me how to make Atlassian Confluence and Microsoft SharePoint work myself with little or no IT support.
Washington, DC Area
I've written bylined articles about DevOps, enterprise mobility, BYOD, mobile security, and the cloud for sites such as DevOps Agenda, Mobile Business Insights, TechRepublic, and others.
I'm a proponent of centralizing an organization's knowledge through curating project artifacts such as documentation, white papers, presentations, and other collateral. My goal is to make project and corporate knowledge accessible to everybody.
The way people consume entertainment is constantly in flux, so the laws must adapt quickly. Harris Ingram strives to anticipate these changes so you can focus more on creating the performance of a lifetime.
I've provided a range of content strategy support for technology organizations from creating documentation plans, stories guides, and templates for a first time major documentation effort to creating editorial calendars for corporate blogs. Industry, technology, and market trends influence my content strategy. Pitching article ideas to publications has taught me how to be creative and generate winning content ideas efficiently.
I’ve developed technical documentation in support of product launches and major technology initiatives in the commercial and federal sectors. My experience extends to documentation strategy, management, and aiding organizations stand up their first formal technical documentation efforts..
The nature of my work means I can make Microsoft SharePoint, OneDrive, and Atlassian Confluence serve as team sites and central repositories for documentation.I'm also familiar with the challenge of team collaboration using G Suite.
